Salary Slip Generator — a practical guide
A salary slip is the monthly record of what an employee earned and what was deducted. Employees need it for loans, credit cards, visa applications and new-job negotiations; employers above certain sizes are expected to issue it every month.
- EPF here is the employee share: 12% of basic, computed on the ₹15,000 statutory wage ceiling by default — if your establishment contributes on full basic, the number will differ.
- ESI (0.75% of gross) applies only while gross salary is ₹21,000 or less; the generator zeroes it automatically above that.
- Professional Tax is deliberately a manual field: slabs differ by state (some states levy none). Enter the amount from your state’s slab, or 0.
- Keep the salary month unambiguous — "June 2026", not "6/26".
Is a computer-generated salary slip valid without a signature?
Most banks and institutions accept computer-generated slips that state so, but some still ask for a signed or stamped copy — print and sign if the receiver insists.
Why does my EPF show ₹1,800 even though 12% of my basic is more?
Because contributions are computed on the ₹15,000 wage ceiling unless the employer opts to contribute on the full basic. ₹1,800 is 12% of ₹15,000.
